☻ HelloI am Maciej and I design interfaces to Ethereum and web3. My work spans across multiple disciplines from interaction design to engineering, branding and art.
I am the first design hire and head of design at WalletConnect. Here I get to wear all hats: I was responsible for the company rebranding and redesign of all web and printed touchpoints. I completely overhauled one of web3s most well known products and work on introducing completely new ones. Finally, I continue to art direct WC's brand identity, help shape its vision and narrative.
Zora is a protocol for the future of creativity on the web made by a team of amazing people. At Zora I was responsible for the design of the iOS app, NFT marketplace features and worked on building an open source design system.
Kaala is a simple payments app built on top of Ethereum. I worked on the project with Mozilla Labs as its founding designer, laying the groundwork for the product, brand, all marketing collateral and more.
I was the Lead Designer at Status. Status is an open source private messaging app that acts as mobile gateway to the Ethereum ecosystem. Together in small interdisciplinary teams, we’ve created unique new ways for people to monetise their attention, enable community money, community governance and through privacy, preserve culture.
I was the Design Lead on the '17 redesign of Opera desktop browser. Together in a team of designers and engineers we completely rethought the browser interface, focusing on bringing mobile app experiences inside the desktop browser. This included lessons learned from our previous well-received concepts like Opera Neon. We also gave the UI a fresh new look and laid the groundwork for its future expansion.
I’m a design generalist working on digital products and brands in the web3 space. I went down the design rabbit hole doing things on the internet like flash websites and Mac themes and after graduating in graphic design in 2010 I started my own studio.
Since then I’ve been lucky to work with brands big and small, teams of two and companies of thousands, on projects that spanned the many disciplines of contemporary design.
In my design work I pursue the visceral connections we form with digital products. I create opinionated, fun interfaces that invite people to manipulate and play and brands that embrace their communities. My formal education in music made me appreciate the rhythm and structure behind design and became a north star in my process.
I live and work from my home studio in Wrocław, Poland. I enthuse over all things design but also compose electronic music, skateboard, read graphic novels, enjoy and make art, obsess over fashion and vibe with web3 culture.
I consider myself incredibly lucky to have worked with some amazing people, who enabled and helped me do my best work. I’d like to thank y’all, you know who you are.
